Sophie's mum, Sylvia Lancaster, recently met with Shadow Minister for Children, Michael Gove, and Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg and is scheduled to meet with Jack Straw on 6th May.

It's hoped that laws that protect racial or religious groups will be extended to cover violence against subcultures, like Goths, Moshers and Emos.

Sylvia explained to Gove that the changes were important to ensure that justice is done.

She said: "It's not good enough for it to be at the judges discretion. We want legislation so people who commit hate crimes against other cultures are punished."

Sylvia has been invited by Tory leader David Cameron to join a panel to tackle law and order issues in what he describes as "Broken Britain."
