We are sad to announce that we have made the decision not to attend this year’s Download festival. As a charity, the financial and practical implications of the changes to this year’s event, just don’t make it feasible for us to attend. To say we are devastated is not an over statement. We love going, and we love meeting all of you who come to the stall. It is a great way to build on old friendships and make new ones. We are so sorry that we won’t be there this year.
As well as missing the personal contact, our merchandise sales at Download are a significant part of our income for the year. Considering this, you can appreciate how big a decision this was for us to make.
We would be so grateful if anyone intending to buy S.O.P.H.I.E. merchandise, could still do so online. As a self-funded charity, our festival merchandise sales and donations are a lifeline for us and help to keeps us going for the rest of the year.
All sizes are available on pre-order and should be in stock in the next couple of weeks.
We don’t want to encourage any ill feeling with Download. The individuals we spoke to were very pleasant and professional throughout, but the festival design this year (pitch fees, village location, cashless, etc.) was not compatible with the needs of a charity.
